[1] An Uyghur youth returning from Turkey to China is being held in a concentration camp

A message to the Uyghur Information Center on July 17, 2021, states that Muhammad Omar, a 28-year-old Uyghur student from Adana, Turkey, returned home from Turkey on February 11, 2021 and is currently in a Chinese concentration camp. While it is unknown at this time why he returned to East Turkestan, it indicates the naivety of some Uyghur youths who still believe that “China will not touch an Uyghur man unless he joins the anti-Chinese movement”

[2] The Chinese are swindling Uyghur houses from Uyghurs abroad

A message to the Uyghur Information Center on July 16, 2021, said that Chinese speculators were now operating in places such as Turkey to buy homes and land at low prices from Uyghurs whose real estate was confiscated back home. As it turns out, because many Uyghurs did not return to their homeland after a foreign trip, China sealed off the homes of such people and had frozen their properties. Some Uyghurs had previously tried to sell such houses to the Chinese, but could not due to strict restrictions from the Chinese government. Now, under the direct support of the Chinese government, unidentified Chinese individuals are showing up in places such as Turkey to buy Uyghurs’ sealed houses and land in East Turkestan. It is conducted in the following manner: a Chinese person meets with affected Uyghurs abroad and obtains the address and other information about the property in question. Then, the properties are appraised by the Chinese person’s own agents in China. The price of properties is determined by the Chinese person. Once the two sides agree, they will enter the Chinese consulate to sign the corresponding documents. The Chinese person carrying the documents is now certified by the Chinese embassy and will own the Uyghur person’s property. The Chinese person can swindle between 100,000 and 200,000 yuan (US$15K to 30K ) per transaction from the Uyghur property owner. In addition, the Chinese middleman provide services to the Uyghurs to transfer money from their homeland to abroad and charge $50 to $80 per thousand dollars per transaction. The Chinese government is behind all this, and it is clear that this is a ploy by the government to further destroy the Uyghurs economically.

[1] Chinese government forcing Uyghurs abroad to speak for Chinese government by detaining their parents back home.

A message to the Uyghur Information Center on July 10, 2021, said that the Chinese government was doing its utmost in order to deny the genocide of the Uyghurs. Previously the government forced those Uyghurs in East Turkestan who were inquired about by their relatives abroad to speak to the media or testify in the international press conferences to defend the Chinese government. Nowadays, the government, by taking hostage of their parents and relatives back home, is forcing Uyghurs abroad and students abroad to speak and defend the Chinese government outside the country.

So far, the Chinese government has managed to force some Uighurs and students living in Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan to speak on live broadcasts while their parents are under covert duress. Some of these interactions have been published on the Tianshan Network and the so-called Xinjiang United Front Website in Chinese.

Currently, the Chinese government has started a worldwide anti Uyghur activities by targeting Uyghurs, specially Uyghur students abroad. When Uyghur students talk to their parents via FaceTime, the parents would talk about the prearranged contents, for example, they say Chinese government is treating them very well, made Uyghurs’ lives rich, and they are very satisfied with what the Chinese government has done for them. The contents were broadcast live via major Chinese media in Chinese and were published at major network websites in Chinese and in English.

According to the message, Chinese government first detains the parents of certain targeted Uyghurs abroad. Then government officials contact the Uyghurs and make them talk to their parents via FaceTime under police supervision. So far Chinese government has started collecting fake testimonies from targeted Uyghurs from Europe, the United States and Turkey. For now, fake testimonies from the United States and Norway are ready and may soon be broadcast in some media within few days.

In this endeavor, the Chinese government is using its old tactics and tricks in which forcing the parents or other direct relatives of targeted Uyghurs abroad to speak up and force their relatives abroad to speak up. The targeted Uyghurs abroad will be forced to appear on the screen after a few weeks of preparation based on materials provided by the government. Among the Uyghurs who testified with false statements were Uighurs who received aid or scholarships from the Chinese embassies.

It has been disclosed that the person who has been in charge of this emergency operation is the so-called Deputy Chairman of the Uyghur Autonomous Region, Jarullah Hishami, and all those officials who contact the Uyghurs abroad are Kazakh, Tongans and Han Chinese who can speak the Uyghur language. This activity is currently underway at a very urgent pace.

Many Uyghurs in the homeland have shared information on the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese Communist Party in their Wechat group. The majority of these Uighurs are government employees and are well-known to Uighur society. This open celebration is said to be a covert political task one must perform.

1. China is cracking down on Uyghurs’ phones

A message to the Uyghur Information Center on June 19, 2021, said that the police investigations of Uyghurs’ phone activities on the streets in Urumqi and China other cities is still ongoing, and that the police would return back the Uyghurs’ phones as if it just came out of the factory after checking them. The purpose is to prevent Uyghurs from sending photos or videos to the Uyghurs abroad to provide evidence.

2. The Chinese People’s Congress in Xinjiang has passed a bill containing counter measures toward international condemnation of China’s human rights abuses

The government has started implementing the policies in the bill by organizing forced study sessions in every part of Xinjiang villages every evening from 7 to 9. In this bill, the most important part that would directly impact our people is that Uyghur people in East Turkestan should encourage their relatives abroad to form very close relationships with the Chinese consulates where they reside, and that it will legally protect those Uyghurs abroad who would tell the world that Uyghurs back home are living happily in peace, and also the government would forgive their past wrongdoings . As a result, recently a couple of people bought return tickets to Beijing, through the Chinese Consulate in Istanbul. We found out that a female owner of a certain Uyghur restaurant in Istanbul is among them.

3. It has been confirmed that Qin Chuanguo will step down

In order to alleviate the pressure from international community Chinese government has decided to dismiss their own appointee to East Turkestan — the killer, Qin Chuanguo from his position in July. His hands are filled with the blood of innocent Uyghurs in East Turkestan.

4. The funeral of a retired senior teacher in Jing County was held in Han Chinese tradition

The policy of secularization in East Turkestan has intensified. This retired senior teacher had taught many years in Jing County. After he died, the government did not allow people to offer funeral prayers, nor his body was allowed to be washed per religious ritual. The funeral was forced to take place in a Han Chinese funeral home. The veteran teacher was dressed in a school uniform with make-up on and placed in a hall for viewing. The relatives, neighbors and colleagues said their final goodbyes according to Han Chinese ritual at the funeral home.

Chinese government announced that it will take strict measures in punishing Uyghurs for contacting foreigners

A message to the Uyghur Information Center on May 28, 2021, stated that in meetings in Aksu prefecture of East Turkestan it was announced that government officials would take urgent action on the telephone communications and that anyone who communicates with foreigners would be severely punished regardless of what was talked about.

Chinese government is urgently relocating people to Urumqi

A message to the Uyghur Information Center on June 1, 2021, stated that recently Chinese government has made it very easy for Uyghurs to relocate from other parts of China to Urumqi city. If someone buys a house, they can relocate the residency of the whole family very quickly to Urumqi. The reason for such an urgent population transfer to Urumqi might have to do with making Urumqi look more populated with Uyghurs to the international investigators.

Chinese government resumes night market in Urumqi on the first day of Ramadan

A message to the Uyghur Information Center on April 13, 2021, stated that the Chinese government had opened a night market on the first day of Ramadan near the Uyghur Medical Hospital in Urumqi. It is noteworthy that the reopening of this long-closed night market happened on the first day of the Ramadan.
